<Re:Folly> 5th Gwangju Folly Identity Design

Re:Folly는 기후변화 시대에 건축의 역할을 탐구하는 프로젝트로, 광주비엔날레와 광주광역시가 주최했다. 2023년부터 2024년까지 네 팀의 건축가가 디자인, 재료, 공법, 시민 참여를 아우르는 실험적 순환 과정을 탐색한다. 이 맥락에서 나는 프로젝트를 이끌고 뒷받침할 수 있는 디자인 시스템을 기획하고 개발했다. 심볼로 사용된 그래픽 형태는 건축가, 프로그램, 도시 사이니지, 온·오프라인 구조물의 정체성을 유기적으로 구분하는 동시에, 이 다양한 요소들을 하나의 응집력 있는 정체성으로 엮어내는 통합적 장치로 기능한다.

Re:Folly is part of a project organized by the Gwangju Biennale and the City of Gwangju that addresses the role of architecture in the age of climate change. Between 2023 and 2024, four teams of architects engaged in an experimental exploration of circular processes involving design, materials, construction methods, and civic participation. Within this context, I conceived and developed a design system to guide and support the project. The graphic form employed as a symbol functions both as an organic identifier—distinguishing the architects, programs, urban signage, and on/offline structures—and as a unifying element that weaves these diverse components into a cohesive identity.
